Eye Tests for Reception Children

National Vision Screening Program.  

This is a mandatory requirement for children aged 4-5 years in all areas of England.

Each year all reception children have their eyes checked as part of this program. These checks help us to ensure a child’s eyesight is developing normally. Vision screening takes place at this age so any problems can be picked up and treated early.
