Welcome to Hill Mead Primary School

Thank you for your interest in the school.

Hill Mead Primary School sits at the heart of Brixton, and we are proud to serve such a
vibrant, diverse and resilient community. As Executive Headteacher and Head of School, we are committed to ensuring Hill Mead remains a place where children feel safe, happy and inspired to learn - a school that families trust and the community values.

Hill Mead has a long-standing reputation as a harmonious, caring and ambitious learning
community. Our pupils enjoy coming to school, their behaviour is exemplary, and they
benefit from a curriculum that nurtures curiosity, confidence and creativity. We believe
deeply in providing a secure, predictable environment where children can thrive
academically, socially and emotionally.

At Hill Mead, our values guide everything we do. We teach children to be kind, respectful
and responsible, and to take pride in themselves, their school and their community. We
encourage pupils to be curious learners, thoughtful friends and active citizens who
understand the importance of fairness, honesty and compassion. These values shape our
culture, our relationships and our expectations — ensuring that Hill Mead is a place where every child feels they belong and every voice is heard.

This year, our focus is on stability, consistency and connection. We are working closely with our colleagues - dedicated educators who know this community and its children so well - to ensure that every day at Hill Mead is calm, purposeful and joyful. We are strengthening our partnership with families, local organisations and the wider Brixton community so that Hill Mead continues to be a school that is valued, relevant and central to local life.

We are also placing renewed emphasis on pupil attendance, recognising that children
achieve their best when they are in school, learning, playing and growing together. Our
commitment is simple: to provide a school where every child feels they belong, every family feels welcomed, and every member of staff feels proud to contribute.
Hill Mead is - and will continue to be - a community school in the truest sense: ambitious for its children, brave in its aspirations, and caring in its relationships.
