About | Pupil Premium

Children who are looked after or who have qualified for free school meals anytime in the last six years, each attract additional annual funding of £1,320. In 2016-17 Hill Mead will receive £302,280 for 229 pupils.

We use this money to help us employ an extra teacher in every year group. ‘The three-teacher model means that targeted support is provided by a qualified teacher who knows the pupils well. This is highly effective in addressing gaps in pupils’ knowledge quickly.’ Ofsted, July 2015.

In national tests, these pupils make good or outstanding progress by the end of Key Stage 2. The proportion attaining at the higher level at the end of Key Stage 1 is close to or greater than that for other pupils nationally. A greater proportion meet the phonics standard in Year 1 than other pupils nationally.
